The New York State Liquor Authority now allows attorneys to self-certify certain liquor license applications.  Applicants who engage attorneys to submit self-certified applications will receive approvals in a much shorter time than usual.

Here is the SLA announcement:

SELF CERTIFICATION PROGRAM – September 11, 2009

The Members of the Authority have approved the implementation of the Self Certification Program. This program allows attorneys filing retail applications on behalf of applicants to certify that statements and documents provided in an application are true and accurate and that the application meets all statutory requirements. The program will allow for a more timely review of applications as the agency will rely on the information certified by the Attorney, eliminating the need to review each document submitted.

The Self Certification Form and instructions are available at each zone office or may be download on our website (http://www.abc.state.ny.us/ ) under Retail Forms.
