ALCOHOL FOR OUTDOOR DINING ON THE WAY

SLA SAVES THE DAY!!

Dear HL Clients and Friends,

Just moments ago, the SLA announced that they will accept DOT Conditional Approvals for those applying to serve alcohol in their Roadway or Sidewalk Cafes.

This is good news, though it still doesn’t completely solve the problem. The DOT still has to issue your Conditional Approval before you can apply to serve liquor outdoors – and they are still behind in that process.

Here is our Breaking News Breakdown:

-If you have received a DOT Conditional Approval to operate a Roadway Cafe or Sidewalk Cafe this season, you can now file your Alteration Application with the SLA in order to receive approval to serve alcohol outdoors. Until you receive that approval from the SLA, you may offer outdoor dining, but you cannot serve alcohol.

-If you have not received a DOT Conditional Approval yet, you must still receive that approval before you can file your SLA application.

-You will have 60 days to file with the SLA from the date of your DOT Conditional Approval. If you received your Conditional Approval prior to today, you have 60 days from today to file for the ability to serve alcohol outdoors.

Now is the time to GET MOVING. We are here to help with every step of the process. Email Cara Onofrietti today at [email protected] or call us at 212-219-1193.
